Monarh Bride: Irina, a boho bride in a fairytale dress

Every wedding dress created in the Monarh atelier tells a special story about a wonderful person who has walked through our doors. We know how important this piece will be to the woman who wears it. Both intricate and simple, it marks the beginning of a shared future with the person she loves. Sometimes, a dress we create also answers a challenge set by a dear friend.

That's what happened to Irina, a good friend of Larisa Lupoiu, head designer at Monarh, who gave us the (wonderful) task of creating two gorgeous outfits for her wedding, just like her. The ceremony required an elaborate lace dress with a gravity-defying cut. A dramatic bare back (no mesh) was paired with a plunging neckline and sleeves that would make any medieval or boho princess (as you wish) jealous.

For Irina, her future husband Mihai created a beautiful setting on Corbu beach and an unforgettable proposal. "There was an arch covered in lights and decorative shell garlands, candles on the sand, torches, and a table where we ate shellfish and drank Lambrusco. It was a dream!" our bride recalls.

And for such a romantic marriage proposal, a wedding party was needed to match. Therefore, there could only be one choice. A unique outdoor ceremony and a fairytale party by the sea.

It was a deeply meaningful setting, and I was enchanted. IRINA SLUSER

"Initially we thought about a location in Olimp, but we wanted something special and beach weddings are quite difficult to organize due to logistical reasons. We finally decided on Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort, in Bulgaria. This location is spectacular and close to Romania, the services are high quality, the beaches incredible and the ideal place to celebrate as we dreamed," explains Irina.

The wedding had a boho-glam theme, just as you would expect from someone as creative as Irina. "I imagined pampas grass, feathers, tall candlesticks, cowboy boots, and an absolutely fabulous white dress in authentic lace. I wanted special needle lace, made using a needle and thread, a technique considered the pinnacle of lacemaking for its delicacy and the time it requires. As for the cut, I knew what I wanted long before I knew I was getting married. :)" our bride recalls.

And choosing the designer who would make this wonderful dress couldn't have been easier. "There was never another alternative. Larisa is a very dear friend of mine, we've known each other for a very long time so I know exactly what Monarh means."

From the first sketch to the final adjustments, the creative process took approximately 8 months, allowing for the time needed to make the lace and perfect the technical details.

"Creating the fabric and the dress itself took a great deal of time, because Larisa and I are both perfectionists, particular about what we want, and attentive to detail.

The dress had to be nothing less than PERFECT! I knew from the outset that the design would meet my expectations, so I had no worries," Irina recalls.

All the effort and attention to detail paid off when Mihai saw Irina for the first time. "It's hard to explain in words. It was an extraordinary sensation. Overwhelming. I felt like the most beautiful and special woman in the world. It was the most emotional moment. Without hesitation, I would say that Mihai's gaze and the emotion he conveyed to me while I was walking to the altar overwhelmed me. It was a gaze full of love and confidence. Not even the rain could erase the happiness of the moment, but only flood it and amplify it! I felt like my heart was going to fly out of my chest!".

When you think of a beach wedding, it's hard to take the rain into account. However, this messenger of prosperity and wealth wanted to personally greet Irina. "I have many beautiful memories from that day, but I think I will never forget the religious ceremony. It took place outdoors and although it rained and we had to protect ourselves with umbrellas, the service was extremely emotional. In front of us the sky merged with the sea. There were shades of gray, white, blue, green, in a chaos that captured your eyes and this spectacle of colors took your breath away," Irina explains.

For the reception, Irina chose a relaxed dress from the Monarh Resort collection. "I changed shortly after our first dance so I could celebrate in my own style," she recalls. The flowing silk dress let her dance all night. Our bride also chose to wear a cardigan

DON'T FORGET HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO FOCUS ONLY ON THE GOOD PARTS, ON THE JOY OF THE DAY AND ON THE PERSON YOU WILL MARRY!

Irina, any advice for our brides?

"Let your dreams and inspiration guide you in preparing your event and don't let yourself be influenced or forced to conform to other people's ideas about what your wedding should look like."

Only respect the traditions you like because your event should be as unique and beautiful as your love story.

Accept the fact that you can't and won't please everyone no matter how hard you try, and that's okay!

If you are short of time and want to avoid the complications, hire someone to take care of the details. It will make your life much easier, and you will see that the investment was worthwhile!"
